Privacy Policy

We collect the minimum information needed to operate Rentwise and improve the Service:

• Account information from Google Sign-In. Rentwise uses Google as the only sign-in method. When you sign in, Google shares your name, email address, profile picture, and a unique Google account identifier with us.
• Authentication credentials. We securely store authentication data (including hashed passwords where applicable) and your email address in our database.
• Property & operational data. Information you add to Rentwise — properties, rooms, tenants, rent records, expenses, agreements, maintenance tickets, and communication logs.
• Device & usage data. Device model, OS version, app version, IP address, crash logs, and feature usage.

• To provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
• To authenticate you and secure your account.
• To send rent reminders, alerts, and operational notifications.
• To provide customer support and respond to your requests.
• For internal research, analytics, and product development to improve features, performance, and reliability of Rentwise.
• To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or security issues.
• To comply with legal obligations.

Your data — including email addresses, authentication credentials, and all property and tenant information — is stored in a secure database hosted on Microsoft Azure. We use industry-standard safeguards including:

• Encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest.
• Hashed and salted password storage.
• Role-based access controls and least-privilege principles.
• Regular backups and monitoring on Azure infrastructure.

While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no system is perfectly secure. You use the Service at your own risk.

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:

• Service providers (e.g., Microsoft Azure, Google Sign-In, analytics, crash reporting) who process data on our behalf under appropriate confidentiality and security obligations.
• Legal authorities when required by law, regulation, court order, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
• Business transfers in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.

We may use aggregated and de-identified data derived from your usage for internal research, analytics, machine learning, and product improvement. This research helps us build better tools for property owners and PG operators. Where required by law, we obtain consent or provide opt-out mechanisms.

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. We may retain certain information to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Section 8).

Rentwise is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to:

• Access, correct, or delete your personal data.
• Withdraw consent for certain processing activities.
• Request a copy of your data in a portable format.
• Object to or restrict certain types of processing.

Rentwise integrates with Google Sign-In for authentication. Your use of Google services is governed by Google's privacy policy. We are not responsible for the practices of third parties.

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app or via email. Continued use of the Service after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
